  • Numbers are non-affiliated ranges unless marked "Affiliated". IP = Integrated Programme; PG = Posting Group.
  • * The school still had places after posting, so its cut-off is shown as 30.
  • (D), (M), (P): Higher Chinese grade (Distinction, Merit, Pass) of the first or last student admitted to a SAP school.
  • "none posted": no student was posted in that category in 2025. At Kuo Chuan Presbyterian, all non-affiliated Posting Group 3 places were taken through DSA-Sec; its 2024 range was 6 to 9.

How to read the cut-off points

Each range shows the PSLE Scores of the first and last student posted to the school through Secondary 1 posting in 2025. The second number is the cut-off point: the score of the last student admitted in that Posting Group. A lower number is harder to get into.

Your Posting Group comes from your PSLE Score: 4 to 20 is Posting Group 3, 21 to 22 is 2 or 3, 23 to 24 is 2, 25 is 1 or 2, and 26 to 30 with AL 7 or better in English and Mathematics is 1. Integrated Programme places are for Posting Group 3 students.

Cut-off points move with each year's results and school choices, and students who meet a cut-off can still be tie-broken out by citizenship, choice order and balloting. MOE publishes these ranges only as a reference.

In 2025, non-affiliated cut-offs ranged from 6 to 9 for Integrated Programme places, from 8 to 22 for other Posting Group 3 places, from 21 to 25 for Posting Group 2 and from 26 to 30 for Posting Group 1.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cut-off point of a secondary school?
It is the PSLE Score of the last student posted to the school in each Posting Group in the previous year. SchoolFinder shows it as the upper end of a range, from the first to the last student admitted. Meeting it does not guarantee a place, because students with the same score can be tie-broken out.
Which secondary schools have the lowest cut-off points?
In 2025, the most selective non-affiliated places were the Integrated Programme at Hwa Chong Institution, Methodist Girls' School, Nanyang Girls' High School, Raffles Girls' School and Raffles Institution, each with a cut-off of 6. Among Posting Group 3 places outside the IP, the lowest cut-off was 8.
What does 30* mean in the cut-off points?
The last student posted had a score better than 30, but the school still had places after posting, so MOE shows the cut-off as 30: it could have taken any eligible student with a score of 30. In 2025, 28 schools showed 30* for Posting Group 1.
What do (D), (M) and (P) after a score mean?
At SAP schools, the letter in brackets is the Higher Chinese grade of the first or last student admitted: Distinction, Merit or Pass. A score of 7(M) means the last student had a PSLE Score of 7 and a Merit in Higher Chinese. Students with the same score and a better Higher Chinese grade are placed first.
Are cut-off points the same every year?
No. MOE says cut-off points can move by a few points from year to year, depending on how the cohort scores and which schools students choose. Treat the ranges as a guide, not a promise.
What is the difference between affiliated and non-affiliated cut-off points?
Students from an affiliated primary school get priority if they put the secondary school as their first choice and meet its criteria, so their cut-off can be higher (a larger number). At least 20% of the places in each Posting Group are kept for students without affiliation.
