Why GPA Matters at SFU
You need a CGPA of 2.00 to continue, with probation below 2.00 after 9 units. Graduating "with distinction" needs 3.50 on both your CGPA and your upper-division GPA, and "first class with distinction" needs 4.00. The Dean's Honour Roll needs a term GPA of 3.50 on at least 12 units, and the President's Honour Roll 4.00.

SFU Grading Note
SFU grades on a 4.33 scale with no D+ or D-: D (1.00) is the lowest passing grade. SFU sets no university-wide percentage ranges; each department decides how percentages map to letters.
SFU Accuracy Scope
P, W and notations such as AU, CR and WD carry no grade point and are left out. FD and N count as 0.00. For a repeated course only the higher grade counts (the most recent if they are equal). Transfer credits are not in the SFU CGPA.
