How CASPA groups your courses
CASPA's course subject list, built with the Physician Assistant Education Association, puts each subject in a category that feeds one or more GPAs:

Every subject counts in the overall GPA, including subjects not on the list. If you are unsure, CASPA says to choose by the department that offers the course; it corrects subjects during verification, and you can dispute the subject it assigns but not which GPA that subject feeds.
CASPA grade values
US percentage grades convert without plus or minus: 90-100 A, 80-89 B, 70-79 C, 60-69 D, 59 and below F. A number grade between two listed values rounds up to the higher grade, so a 2.8 becomes a B (3.0). Each grade is multiplied by its attempted credits, and quality points are divided by attempted credits.
Counted in your CASPA GPAs
- Every graded course on your transcripts. You must enter all of them, along with withdrawals, repeats, ungraded labs, test credit and gym courses.
- Every attempt of a retaken course, whatever your college's forgiveness policy.
- A WF, as an F.
- Dual enrollment courses, as freshman courses.
- Post-baccalaureate courses in your cumulative undergraduate GPA, and graduate courses in your overall GPA.
Left out, or not stated
- Non-graded credit: AP credit, pass or satisfactory grades, and pass/fail courses.
- AP, IB, CLEP, DANTE, Regents and tested-out credit, entered with a grade of CR.
- Not stated by CASPA: how a plain W or a failed pass/fail course is treated. Its grade chart lists no value for them.
Quarter hours: CASPA reports semester hours and converts 1.0 quarter hour to 0.667 semester hours.
