About the MMU GPA System
Multimedia University (MMU) runs two long trimesters of about 14 weeks and a short one of about 7 weeks. Your GPA is total grade points divided by total credit hours for the trimester (TGP ÷ TCH), and your CGPA the same over all trimesters (CTGP ÷ CTCH).
Why GPA Matters at MMU
You need a CGPA of 2.00 to graduate, and a GPA and CGPA below 2.00 for two trimesters in a row ends your studies unless an appeal succeeds. Bachelor's classes: First from 3.67, Second Upper from 3.33, Second Lower from 2.67 and Third from 2.00. The Dean's List needs a GPA of 3.67 (3.50 for diplomas) on at least 12 credit hours of graded subjects in a long trimester.

MMU Grading Note
MMU gives each whole mark from 50 to 79 its own grade point (A- is 3.67 at 75 and 3.93 at 79), so choose the option that matches your mark. Since Trimester 3 2022/2023 the pass mark is 40% (grade D), except Law, Accounting degrees and the Diploma in Accounting, which pass at 50% (grade C).
MMU Accuracy Scope
A course can be repeated up to two times, and only the best grade counts in the CGPA. Pass/fail subjects (PS, FL) and withdrawals (W) are left out. IT and computing programmes at FCI and FIST also need 40% in coursework and in the final assessment, and engineering at FET and FOE needs 40% in the final examination.
GPA Tips for MMU Students
- Pick the grade point for your exact mark: 72 is B+ at 3.47, not the flat 3.33 that B+ earns at many universities.
- Check your programme's pass mark: in Law and Accounting a C- (47-49) is a fail.
- Retake a weak course to lift your CGPA: only the best of up to three attempts counts.
