UKM Grading Note
UKM grades on a 4.00 scale and calls the semester GPA PNG and the CGPA PNGK. Whether C-, D+ or D counts as a pass depends on your faculty. Students entering in the 2026/2027 session use new grade points (A- 3.75, B+ 3.50, B- 2.75, C+ 2.50, C- 1.75, D+ 1.50) and need a PNGK of 3.75 for Kepujian (Cemerlang); pick that scale in the calculator.
UKM Accuracy Scope
When you repeat a course, only the latest grade counts in your PNGK. Grades with no value (such as L/K and TD) and vertical credit transfers are left out. Check your faculty's programme conditions as well.
GPA Tips for UKM Students
- UKM does not award A+ in its grading scale. The maximum grade is A (4.00), so every A counts equally.
- Depending on your faculty, a C-, D+ or D can be a fail. Failed courses must be repeated, and courses graded C- or below can be repeated to improve the grade.
- Check your faculty-specific progression rules, as UKM faculties can impose stricter CGPA thresholds than the university minimum.
Common GPA Mistakes at UKM
Many students expect an A+ tier to exist at UKM. Since the highest grade is A (4.00), there is no way to compensate for a B+ with an A+ elsewhere. Consistency across all subjects matters more.
